Military Long Drive Qualifiers

For the first time, this year’s RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship in Mesquite, Nevada will include an inaugural Military Long Drive Championship. Thousands of active duty personnel from all services, including Reservists and National Guard, competed in qualifying rounds at 25 participating golf courses on Army installations in the United States. Congratulations to the five qualifiers who will compete in the finals Thursday night October 25 for a $10,000 top prize and bragging rights as the “armed forces’ biggest hitter.”

Qualified at Cheyenne Shadows Golf Course (Fort Carson, CO)

Zone 2 Winner: U.S. Army SGT Bryan King – Winning Drive 381 yards
Qualified at The Courses at Clear Creek (Fort Hood, TX)

Zone 3 Winner: U.S. Air Force SSgt Carl Taylor – Winning Drive 384 yards
Qualified at Piney Valley Golf Course (Fort Leonard Wood, MO)

Zone 4 Winner: : U.S. Coast Guard AMN Ryan Hixson – Winning Drive 346 yards
Qualified at Taylor’s Creek Golf Course (Fort Stewart, GA)

Zone 5 Winner: U.S. Army SFC John Merritt II – Winning Drive 386 yards
Qualified at The Courses at Fort Meade, MD
